Professional services in numbers

55%

of Dutch specialist business services firms (10+ staff) used AI in 2025.

Against 33% of all firms with 10+ staff.¹

Most firms like yours already work with AI. What sets one apart now is what its experts do with the time it frees.

−2.6%

price change for Dutch translation services in Q4 2025, against a year earlier.

Against +5.4% for accountancy services.²

Work AI can do loses its price. Work clients trust a person with keeps it.

90.7%

of Dutch specialist business services firms are one person. Q3 2026 (provisional).³

Nine in ten firms in this field are one person. With AI behind them, those people can take on work that once needed a whole team.

What's changing

AI now drafts, checks and researches faster every few weeks. That frees senior people for the part clients come for: the decision, and someone who answers for it. A small team can take on work that used to need a big firm.

Where firms win

Their experts sit with the client and decide, while AI works the problem live beside them. They improve how they work each time the tools improve, and that's what keeps their fees up.

Elixirr, a senior-led consultancy with AI in its work

Elixirr runs a senior-led firm without the usual pyramid and has built over 45 of its own AI tools into how it works. Proposals now take around 10% of the time they used to. In 2025 revenue rose 34% to £149.6 million, and revenue per client-facing partner rose to £4.4 million from £4.1 million. A senior team with AI behind it earned more per partner, not less. The gain stayed in the firm.⁴

Current, accounting firms with AI doing the preparation

Current, backed by Thrive Holdings, brings independent US accounting firms onto one platform, and the firms keep their own name and leadership. With OpenAI it built Tax AI, which prepared 7,000 tax returns in its first season. Firms that used it cut tax preparation time by 31% on average. One accountant went from 180 hours to 15 and used the time to call every client through their return. The AI did the preparation, and the accountant spent the hours won back with clients.⁵

How we help

We work with the partners on the choices that get the firm there: which clients and problems to grow around, and what to charge for. Then we build the AI into how the team works, and keep improving it as the frontier moves.
